For home seekers in the Netherlands, who are just starting their search, Buurtklik.nl is an online platform, that recommends neighbourhoods by leveraging a wealth of open data tailored to each user’s personal preferences.

Unlike real estate agents and listing websites, it is unbiased, affordable, and provides precise, ultra-personalised recommendations.

Numbers and facts

According to the governmental report WoonOnderzoek Nederland (WoON), a total of 3.2 million households are either considering or definitely planning to move to a (different) independent home within the next two years.

Of these 3.2 million households, nearly 1.7 million indicated that they had taken at least one concrete action to find a home (or had already found one) in the past six months. This represents an increase of 16% compared to 3 years ago.

One in three actively searching households stated that “homes being too expensive” is the main reason they have not yet found a new home. The high purchase and rental prices are, therefore, increasingly becoming an obstacle to fulfilling housing ambitions. A lack of available homes in the desired neighborhood and not taking enough action were the next most commonly mentioned reasons.
